Brett's research and teaching focuses on clinical education to improve the experience of workplace learning for educators and learners alike.
Brett is a Lecturer in Clinical Education in the Department of Medical Education, Melbourne Medical School. He is also an osteopath in private practice in Doncaster East, Melbourne and a Professional Fellow in the School of Health and Human Sciences, Southern Cross University (Australia) and was previously a lecturer in the osteopathy program at Victoria University. Brett is also host of the Department of Medical Education podcast, Med Ed Source.
His current professional roles are as the Chair of the Australasian Osteopathic Accreditation Council and a member of the Accreditation Committee for the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia. Brett is an Associate Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Health Professional Educators. He is an Associate Editor of Focus on Health Professional Education and the International Journal of Osteopathic Medicine. His professional interests include clinical education, professional development, educational assessment and evaluation, and musculoskeletal rehabilitation. Brett is currently enrolled in a PhD exploring the quality of clinical teaching in osteopathy.
