OverviewText1

  • Dr Karen McCulloch is a post-doctoral researcher with expertise in modelling infectious diseases, gained at Massey University, Auckland. Her current research focus is on estimating the burden of disease attributable to chronic hepatitis B in Australia, developing a mathematical model to measure progress towards diagnosis, care and treatment targets. Other projects include developing a spatial model to investigate the impact of host movement on sustaining the transmission of Onchocerca volvulus (causative agent of Oncherciasis or River Blindness), and estimating human movement in Australia using mobility models to understand how populations might travel to access relevant health care.
