  • Leading the coordination of a national trial, Maria is based at the Department of General Practice, Melbourne Medical School. Graduating with a Bachelor of Applied Sciences (Health Promotion) degree, she also has postgraduate qualifications in Clinical Epidemiology and a Master of Primary Health Care (by research). She brings over 14 years’ experience in large scale university-based research studies as well as research program coordination. Maria has extensive capability in the management and coordination of both longitudinal cohort studies and trials. With particular experience in: research contract negotiation, human research ethics committee approvals, budget monitoring, patient recruitment; development and implementation of study protocols; supervision and training research assistants overseeing and monitoring data collection; extraction of clinical data from general practice electronic medical records; research data collection and analysis; writing of progress and final reports for dissemination and co-authoring manuscripts for publication.
