  • Sharmila is currently associated with the school as an honorary fellow. She is interested in understanding and modelling tropical weather-climate extremes including extreme monsoons, tropical cyclones, heavy rainfall events. She investigates their statistical distributions, different physical processes and driving mechanisms crucial for their life-cycle, their representation and predictability in state-of-the-art climate models, as well as the likelihood of their future changes under anthropogenic global warming.
