Dr Bo Qin joined The University of Melbourne in July 2015 as an Associate Professor of Accounting. Prior to joining Melbourne Uni, he held appointments at University of Amsterdam as well as University of Groningen where he earned his PhD in 2010. His PhD research focused on performance-vested stock options and corporate governance. Bo received his MSc in Accounting from Tilburg University in 2005. Before moving to the Netherlands, Bo was a market entry consultant with Frost & Sullivan, the worlds' leading consulting firm which provides market research and analysis, growth strategy consulting, and corporate training services across multiple industries. Bo’s research interests include but not limited to executive compensation, corporate governance, financial reporting, textual analysis, say on pay, CEO succession, and top management team. Bo has published his research in prestigious academic journals such as The Accounting Review, Contemporary Accounting Research, Accounting and Business Research, Accounting Horizons, European Accounting Review, The British Accounting Review, International Business Review. He also makes continuous contribution to leading practitioner journals in the Netherlands in the area of accounting and executive management, such as Management Control & Accounting and Management Executive. Bo's research on say on pay has been covered by popular media such as PR Magazine. In 2011, his monograph (coauthored with Steven Balsam and Yu Flora Kuang) “Executive Compensation Practices in the UK: A Guide to Governance, Taxation and Accounting” was published by the world’s leading human resources association for professionals and organizations focused on compensation, benefits, work-life effectiveness and total rewards. Bo currently serves as an ad-hoc reviewer for several journals including The Accounting Review, Contemporary Accounting Research, European Accounting Review, Management Accounting Research, Abacus, Accounting
