  • Dr Melanie Hayes is a registered Dental Hygienist and Lecturer in the Bachelor of Oral Health Program at the University of Melbourne. She has a strong interest in oral health research. Dr Hayes completed an Honours degree in 2008, and obtained her PhD in 2013, on the topic of musculoskeletal disorders in the Dental Hygiene profession. She also has interest in dental education, in particular the use of technology and innovative teaching and learning practices. Dr Hayes currently supervises Honours students and one PhD Candidate, and is an Editorial Board Member for the International Journal of Dental Hygiene. Dr Hayes is currently the National President of the Dental Hygienists Association of Australia.
