7. Systems pharmacology of human blood coagulation cascade
Milica completed her Masters in Engineering in ICT at the University of Adelaide, which was followed by an international career in IT management consulting. During her PhD at the University of Melbourne, she developed new mathematical models in the area of metabolic engineering. In 2013 she joined CSL, a global biopharmaceutical company headquartered in Melbourne, with major facilities in Australia, Germany, Switzerland and the US, employing over 13,000 people in 27 countries. Milica is responsible for developing bioinformatics capability within the company, focusing on the emerging next generation sequencing technologies and their ability to support drug target discovery, pre-clinical and clinical biomarker discovery, antibody discovery/optimisation, and manufacturing cell line characterisation. She also has a keen interest in systems pharmacology and the development of kinetic models of the human blood coagulation cascade.
