  • Jennifer Stevens-Ballenger is a Lecturer in Music Education within the Melbourne Graduate School of Education. She leads workshops in both early childhood and primary preservice music education, and has a particular penchant for working musically with parents, carers, educators and very young children. Jennifer has worked extensively as a musician within a variety of early learning environments, including preschools, childcare centres, schools, community arts venues, and parents' groups. Her research explores concepts such as learning in and through music in the early years, characteristics of engaging music programs for very young audiences, musical parenting and caregiving, and explorative composition techniques.
