  • I am a clinician who is involved in using animal models eg cats and rabbits for surgery trials, currently using several devices to act as a visual prosthesis to aid in the development of a bionic eye. I am involved in several clinical trials for the treatment of age-related macular degeneration and macular telangiectasia including the insertion of a device to slow progression of this condition. My other area of expertise is in the epidemiology / management of severe eye infections in the clinical setting, this includes a database of these severe infections and the use of this to develop protocols for management and improve outcomes, hence i can apply these areas of knowledge to the current project.
