Biography
Jon Cattapan is a Melbourne based visual artist whose paintings, drawings and prints deal primarily with reperesentations of the urban environment.
His work has been included in many important surveys of contemporary art including the Asia Pacific Triennial (Queensland Art Gallery) in 1993 and the
Tarrawarra Biennial: Parrallel lives Australian Painting Today (Tarrawarra Museum of Art) 2006. His work was the subject of a major survey held at
the Potter Museum of Art, University of Melbourne in 2006 ('The Drowned world: Jon Cattapan works and collaborations'). His work his held inmany state and regional
museums including the National gallery of Australia, the National Gallery of Victoria, the Art Gallery of New South Wales, the Art Gallery of South Australia,
the Queensland Art Gallery and the Museum of Contemporary Art (Sydney) as well as many private and corporate collections.
