Biography
Dr Temple-Smith has worked in the area of sexual health and health services research for over 20 years. She has examined GPs’ sexual history taking, GPs’ knowledge, attitudes and practices in relation to STIs and contact tracing in the general practice setting. Both her masters and doctoral theses were on sexual health. She was principal co-editor of and contributor to the book “Sexual Health: an Australian Perspective”. She is on the Foundation Board of Management of the Journal ‘Sexual Health’. Dr Temple-Smith has more recently been involved in a number of projects on Hepatitis C - examining hepatitis C treatment issues from both patient and practitioner perspectives, health practitioners' attitudes and practices towards those with hepatitis C, access to hepatitis C health services for indigenous and CALD communitites, health regulations and legislation reataing to hepatitis C in prisons, needle exchange and body art industries.
