Dr Kim Torney

Kim completed her PhD, From ‘Babes in the Wood’ to ‘Bush-lost babies: the development of an Australian Image, in the Department of History, University of Melbourne, in 2003. Prior to that, she worked on The Oxford Companion to Australian History as research assistant, writer, and assistant editor. From 2002 until 2007, Kim was the Victorian Researcher for the Australian Dictionary of Biography. She also worked as an independent research historian on a wide-range of projects in both the public and commercial sector. Her thesis was published in 2005 as Babes in the Bush: the Making of an Australian Image by Fremantle Arts Centre Press.
Kim is now working as Research Fellow co-ordinating The Encyclopaedia of Australian Architecture project for Professor Philip Goad and Assoc. Professor Julie Willis in the Department of Architecture, Building and Planning
