Biography

I completed my PhD in 1997 at Monash University, Melbourne, Victoria in viral immunology. I then worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of MElbourne with Dr Janet Ruby studying host-virus interactions (ectromelia virus). In 1999, I moved to the laboratory of Professor Peter Doherty, Department of Immunology at St Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, TN, USA. I returned with Professor Doherty in 2002 to help set up his laboratory in the Department of MIcrobiology and Immunology, The University of Melbourne. I have since established my own research group examining both molecular and cellular aspects of killer T cell immunity to virus infection.
