Biography

Dr Siqing Chen is a GIS ecologist and landscape planner. He has practised since 2003 in a range of private and public sector settings in China and United States. His research interests lie in emerging issues of landscape planning, landscape urbanism, carbon neutral landscape, and ecological infrastructure with emphasis on sustaining the built environment. He has been involved in projects funded by the Chinese and U.S. governments, private enterprises and industrial bodies, and has won a few design and academic excellence awards in U.S. and China. Drawing on his ongoing research and practice, Dr Chen teaches landscape planning studio, constructed ecologies, and eco-systems for planning and design.
