Biography
Prior to joining the University of Melbourne's Media and Communications Program, Dr. Khattab was associate professor in Communication at the National University of Malaysia where she also freelanced and wrote as a columnist for the national English language nenwspaper, The New Straits Times. Dr. Khattab's areas of research include media and diasporas in Southeast Asia, bloggerism and news in Malaysia and risk communication and global campaigns. Dr. Khattab was recently invited as visiting associate professor and research fellow to the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur.
