Biography
Dr Radovini commenced at Mindful in 2007 as Director of Mindful and Director of Advanced Training in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry in Victoria. Mindful is the state wide training unit for clinicians working with children and adolescents.
Dr Radovini has more than 20 years experience in Mental Health having worked in both private and public sectors, metro and rural settings and child, adolescent, youth and adult psychiatry.
For the past 9 years Dr Radovini has been the Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist with the IMYOS (Intensive Mobile Youth Outreach Service) at ORYGEN Youth Health. This team works with ‘high risk’ and difficult to engage adolescents & young adults in their own environment. Together with the IMYOS team, Dr Radovini has developed innovative approaches to working with young people and families with complex needs. IMYOS have published two papers outlining 1) the theoretical framework underpinning the IMYOS approach and 2) the outcomes of a clinical audit which showed a substantial decrease in both self harm behaviours and hospital admissions for high risk adolescents involved with IMYOS. Further research is being undertaken to better understand the needs of vulnerable young people.
Prior to taking up the position at Mindful, Dr Radovini was the Clinical Director of Bendigo Health CAMHS for 7 years and has an intimate knowledge of the challenges faced by rural teams in providing good quality care for regional communities.
In 2008 Dr Radovini had a 3 month secondment as CAMHS [Child and Adolecent Mental Health Service] Clinical Advisor in the Office of the Chief Psychiatrist, Mental Health & Drugs Division , Department of Human S,ervices, [Victorian Government.] to look at the specific needs of children, youth and families. In 2009 Dr Radovini was appointed as the first Deputy Chief Psychiatrist for children, adolescents and youth, in the Office of the Chief Psychiatrist.
Mindful is one of the partners in the Take 2 consortium, [Berry St Victoria], responsible for providing therapeutic interventions for children in state care. Dr Radovini provides oversight and advice to the Take Two Knowledge Area, and in particular, the Training Team.
