Biography
Associate Professor Fu Keung Daniel Wong‘s major areas of research interest resolve around issues concerning culture and mental health, migration and mental health, clinical intervention research and mental health consumers and carers. He received his doctoral degree in social work from La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia. Dr. Wong is a qualified cognitive therapist and engages in practice research in experimenting and indigenizing different clinical approaches in working with Chinese people with mental health concerns. He is an Honorary Fellow of The Hong Kong Jockey Club Centre for Suicide and Prevention, and Associate Director, Centre on Behavorial Health, The University of Hong Kong. Dr. Wong is also the founder of the Centre for Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Education and Training for Chinese People of The University of Hong Kong. This centre provides training on CBT for professionals who are interested in developing clinical skills in CBT in working with people with mental health problems. Dr. Wong has received numerous awards such as The Fulbright Fellowship and The Universitas 21 Fellowship. He has also written over 50 refereed articles and 6 books. Currently, he is the Associate editor of a US based journal “Social Work and Mental Health” and serves in the editorial board of Hong Kong Journal of Social Work.
