Biography
Dr Archer obtained MBBS and BMedSc through University of New South Wales in 1990. He trained in neurology in Sydney and Oxford, completing a PhD in epilepsy and imaging through Austin Hospital and The University of Melbourne in 2002. From 2002-7 he ran a solo neurology service at Cairns Base Hospital, whilst helping establish James Cook University Medical School clinical program at the hospital. In 2007 he was appointed senior lecturer medicine the University of Melbourne, head of EEG laboratory Austin Health, and research fellow Brain Research Institute / Florey Neuroscience Institutes. He has previously published in the areas of tropical and indigenous neurology. Current research interests are EEG/fMRI, secondary generalized epilepsy.
