Biography

Associate Professor Leisa Sargent lectures in the Department of Management and Marketing at The University of Melbourne.  Leisa completed her Ph.D. at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto, lectured at Cornell University and Queensland University of Technology and gained her Masters in Industrial and Organisational Psychology  from The University of Queensland.

Leisa has been an expert witness in the Industrial Relations Commission focusing on the detrimental effects of job changes in the Australian aged care sector and has also made a submission to the Senate inquiry on Aged Care. Her organisational research includes career and job changes, stress and coping, managing work-life boundaries and team effectiveness. Her work is published in several internationally recognised journals as well as edited books. She has consulted to large complex organizations both in Australia and North America. She is currently collaborating on two Australian Research Council linkage grants relating to work organization changes in Australian Aged Care and an evidence based approach to developing leadership capabilities and retaining managerial talent in Australian business.
