Biography
Kevin Brophy is author of eleven books, including the poetry collection, Mr Wittgenstein’s Lion (Five Islands 2007) and new essays, Patterns of Creativity (Rodopi 2009). He is Professor of Creative Writing in the School of Culture and Communication at the University of Melbourne. He was 2009 co-winner of the Calibre Prize for an outstanding essay (published in Australian Book Review, April 2009). His collection of short fiction, What Men and Women Do, was runner-up for the Christina Stead Award. He was 2005 recipient of the Martha Richardson Medal for poetry. He is currently patron of the Melbourne Poets Union.
