Biography
Colin is the Academic co-ordinator for postgraduate Engineering Project Management courses within the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at The University of Melbourne. He brings a blend of industry experience to his current academic roles and consistently builds on his twenty-five years experience in the procurement and management of building and infrastructure assets through his active involvement in industry sponsored research and consultancies. He is a highly skilled engineering consultant, project manager, and research academic and his expertise encompasses the full life cycle of projects. Specific areas of expertise include: detailed feasibility studies, review of project delivery options, risk analysis, design, tender review, procurement and project delivery, the development of management systems appropriate for the provision of infrastructure assets. His research into projects, and their efficient procurement has focussed on the use of Public Private Partnerships where the long term sustainability of the delivery of a service is governed by the interaction between policy, technical matters, risk management, financing and contractual arrangements.
