Biography
Adrian Pearce completed a BSc(Hons) at the University of Melbourne in Computer Science and a PhD at Curtin University of Technology in the same field. Since 2000 he has been a member of the academic staff at the University of Melbourne, where he holds an appointment as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering, within the Melbourne School of Engineering.
Adrian has extensive research interests in areas of multi-agent systems, collaborative problem solving and agent programming languages. His work falls within the field of artificial intelligence and includes reasoning about action and change, based on asynchronous variants of the situation calculus, and epistemic reasoning involving complex epistemic modalities, including common knowledge.
Adrian is presently a Director of the intelligent agent laboratory (www.agentlab.unimelb.edu.au) at the University of Melbourne.
